Jermaine Franklin Not Intimidated By Dillian Whyte, Eager To Fight Him

Undefeated contender Jermaine Franklin joins the long list of contenders who are waiting to get their hands on Dillian Whyte.

Last month, Whyte stopped Alexander Povetkin in four rounds to avenge a brutal knockout loss from August 2020.

Afterwards, Whyte’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, discussed the scenario of taking his fighter to the United States in the summer.

Franklin, 28-years-old, is training to face fellow unbeaten Stephan Shaw on April 22nd, in the main event of a Ring City USA card on NBC Sports.

He would like to face a top five contender before the end of the year.

According to Franklin, he is not the least bit intimidated by Whyte and his crazy tactics.

“That intimidation sh!t, it doesn’t work for people like me,” Franklin told Sky Sports.

“I’ve always experienced and always been through rough situations, so a bully is nothing to me.

“A bully is just a regular person. You can try to intimidate me, if you want to bully me, or you can try any of that, but that sh!t won’t do nothing for you, won’t get you nowhere. You’re not going to get inside my head or it’s not going to make me feel any different about you. It might make me want to beat you up more, but beside of that, it’s not going to help you in any way.”

Dmitriy Salita, the promoter for Franklin, is confident in his boxer’s ability to become a world champion.

“Jermaine is the best upcoming American heavyweight,” Salita told Sky Sports.

“He has a stern test in front of him on April 22nd against Stephan Shaw, but I believe it will be another opportunity for him to shine and show boxing fans that he is the next American in line for the world title.

“If Dillian Whyte is coming to the US for his next fight, Jermaine will be delighted to offer him a gracious, warm, in ring welcome on these shores.”
