The trimmed down EC Boxing will stage their first show of 2021 on March 13 at the gym in Hamburg.

On top of the small show is heavyweight Ali Eren Demirezen (13-1) who is in against Jacek Krzysztof Piatek (11-0) with the vacant WBO European title at stake. Don’t let the records fool you as this should be an easy win for Demirezen vs his 47-year old opponent. Also on the bill is heavyweight prospect Viktor Faust (5-0), heavyweight Michael Wallisch (18-4) and super lightweight Volkan Gokcek (4-0).

EBU cruiserweight champion Tommy McCarthy (17-2) will, according to the EBU make a voluntary defense against Romanian Alexandru Jur (19-4) May 15 in London. This is the first defense for McCarthy, who won the then vacant title by beating Bilal Laggoune. Jur is 3-3 since 2018 but the losses have been on the road against tough opponents.

On the same bill promoted by Matchroom super middleweight Lerrone Richards (14-0) fights former WBA champ Giovanni De Carolis (28-9-1) with the vacant EBU title at stake.

According to boxewebring.com these two EBU title fights are on the undercard to a show topped by Joshua Buatsi.

Frenchman Dylan Bregeon (11-0-1) and Italian Fabio Turchi (18-1) clash for the vacant EU cruiser title on April 16 in Milano, Italy, reports The French Federation. Promoting the fight is OPI since 82, Matchroom Italy and DAZN.

Turchi was 17-0 when he fought Tommy McCarthy in the fall of 2019 but lost an upset split decision with the vacant WBC Int’l title at stake. For McCarthy it was up and away while Turchi had a year out of the ring (with Corona of course playing a big part) before beating Nikolajs Grisunins.

EBU super feather Samir Ziani (32-3-1) will defend the title against mandatory challenger John Carter (13-0-1) of Spain this summer with MGZ promoting. Date and site is to be announced but according to espabox.com the fight will go ahead in either Marbella or Granada.

Frenchman Sandy Messaoud (14-6) defends the WBA Intercontinental welterweight title April 24 in St Ave, against Dane Oliver Mollenberg (7-0-1). Messaoud has six straight wins and makes the first defense of the title he won on the road in Minsk by stopping Nursultan Zhangbaev. Reigning Danish champ Mollenberg drew against current French lightweight champ Jaouad Belmehdi with the WBO youth super lightweight title at stake. This is his first fight outside of Denmark.

When German heavyweight Dennis Lewandowski (14-5) fought Marco Huck his weight made some headlines as he came in at 152 kilos / 335 lbs. Well, Dennis returned this past weekend in Bentwisch and beat Benjamin Skender (5-23) and weighed about 147 kilos / 324 lbs and expects to be down to about 115 kg / 250 lbs by the end of the year. As for Skender in 2017 he fought at middleweight but weighed 94 kg / 207 lbs for this fight where he was stopped in the second.

Malta is under stronger corona restrictions and promoter Niclas Elfstedt has been forced to postpone his show, which was set for March 27 in St Julians. The event had heavyweight Pezhman Seifkhani (11-0) and light heavy Marko Calic (11-1) headlining. Elfstedt, also an active fighter with a record of 9-1, is hoping to get his promotion off the ground in May.
