Spain earned a late draw in their clash with Germany courtesy of a stoppage-time Jose Gaya strike. Luis Enrique’s side then put four past Ukraine in their last outing to prove that La Roja are slowly becoming a dominant force on the international scene once again. Getting one over on their closest rivals will be firmly on their agenda tonight to continue their recent resurgence.

The veteran remains close to the peak of his powers and he will be angling for further goals after reaching the 100 goals for Portugal in his last international outing. Fernando Santos’ men defeated Croatia and Sweden in their two Nations League matches in the last round of international fixtures. They’ve won five matches on the bounce and Santos will be keen to take the scalp of Spain this evening.

Portugal and Spain last met at the 2018 World Cup when they played out a thrilling 3-3 draw. Cristiano Ronaldo put on a clinic for his side scoring a hat-trick to save them from defeat. Diego Costa and Nacho Fernandez had put La Roja on course for victory before Ronaldo’s late act.

Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the friendly clash between Portugal and Spain at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
