By Brad Marchetti: Undefeated welterweight southpaw Harold Calderon, 26-0, 17 KO’s, returns from an 11-month layoff to face Argentine veteran Ezequiel Fernandez, 28-5-1, 3 KO’s, from the luxurious Doubletree hotel in Miami, FL. “King” Calderon has some nice tools but will be facing a rough customer in the part-time kickboxer Fernandez.

The stacked Rivalta Boxing fight card is sold out but can be streamed on FiteTV for $19.99. The flashy Miami resident Calderon, 35, is a fan favorite that always draws a crowd, with celebrities like Dwanye Wade, Rick Ross, and Adrien Broner often in attendance. Calderon will be looking to make a statement against Fernandez as he continues his quest for a title shot before father time counts him out.

The stacked undercard features bare-knuckle brawler Ulysses “The Monster” Diaz, 13-1, 12 KO’s, who owns the fastest knockout in bare-knuckle boxing (0:03) in a cruiserweight bout against Quintell Thompson. Another bare-knuckle brawler on the card is big-hitting heavyweight Gustavo Trujillo, 29, making his pro boxing debut after going for 4-0 in bare-knuckle boxing, all first-round knockouts. After dropping a 12-round decision to contender Robert Easter Jr. 140 Lb. boxer/puncher Ryan Martin, 24-2, 14 KO’s, will face Colombian Carlos Padilla, 18-12-1, 12 KO’s.

Undefeated 122 Lb. prospect Jorge Romero Jr., 22-0-1, 14 KO’s, be in a 10-rounder against Argentine gatekeeper Julian Aristule, 35-15, 18 KO’s. Blue-chip lightweight prospect Frank Zaldivar, 3-0, 1 KO, from Cuba will face veteran Daulis Prescott, 33-17, 25 KO’s, in a good litmus test Zaldivar who was 63-15, 9 KO’s as an amateur. Highly touted 6’4″ 212 Lb. Cuban Heavyweight Fernando Cuza, will also be making his debut against undefeated Cody Kerr, 2-0, 1 KO. Another prospect to keep an eye on is the promising 126 Lb. southpaw Victor Abreu, 1-0, 1 KO.
