George Kambosos Sr On The Haney’s: “They Look Rattled”

Kambosos Jr (28-0, 15 KOs) seemed to be in a celebratory mood after the weigh-in as if he’s pulled a trick out of the ancient ‘Art of War’ book by Sun Tzu.

However, it will take more than mind games and foolishness to throw Haney off to where he won’t pull the trigger on his jab for the rematch on Saturday night at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.

Despite the mind tricks, Kambosos looks like a doomed man heading toward another guaranteed one-sided loss.

Haney showed last time that all he needed was his jab to basically shut out Kambosos. It’s hard to believe that things will be different this time just because Kambosos attempted to upset Haney at the weigh-in.

“I’m focused. I’ve seen this before,” said George Kambosos Jr to Fighthype after the weigh-in for his rematch with Devin Haney on Saturday.

Kambosos doesn’t say where he’s “seen this before.” Hopefully, he’s not referring to the last time he fought Haney because it went badly for him.

The 29-year-old Kambosos appeared totally wound up today, as if he were a doomed man about to have his last meal. He’s trying to pretend that things are cool & calm with him, but he looks badly nervous.

“They’re all upset, George. That was the last straw that we upset them on,” said Kambosos Sr about the Haney’s. “Too easy. I didn’t hear him [Haney]. I was off the stage, but they look rattled.”

It was a little odd to see Bill Haney laughing it up with Kambosos after the weigh-in. The way that Bill and Kambosos seemed chummy with each other suggests to some that today’s weigh-in altercation was a scripted event to sell tickets.

Instead of talking about how “rattled” the Haney’s were, Kambosos Jr and his dad should focus on how drained Devin appeared at the weigh-in.

Haney looked sickly, like someone dealing with a bad case of the flu. His eyes were sunken in and looked emaciated. Kambosos has been around long enough to spot a drained fighter, and he should be trying to boost his spirits with Haney’s condition.

Even if Haney is drained, Kambosos is up against it in this fight because he’s not talented enough.
