Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association has released the names of five best local coaches who are fit for the Black Stars coaching role.

In his list concerning the managerial role, he availed George Boateng who played for the Dutch national team between the years of 2001 and 2006. Boateng played for Aston Villa, Feyenoord and other Europe-based clubs before he became a football manager, having coached the junior side of Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers in England.

Mr. Afriyie also named four GPL coaches who can be considered as assistant coaches.

The ex-GFA gaffer mentioned coach Annor Walker, coach Nuru of King Faisal, and Kotoko boss Prosper Nartey Ogum.

During an interview on Happy, the former GFA boss revealed, “For me, George Boateng is fantastic, Otoo Addo super, Tanko Ibrahim super, Kwasi Appiah super, CK super. They can all do it. We have the men.

“Locally we have the men but because they don’t have the national experience…if not we can get a lot of coaches in our local league but they should be considered as assistant coaches. Annor Walker, Tanko of RTU, Nuru of King Faisal. They should be considered as assistant coaches, they are doing very very well and even Kotoko coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum. He is a good coach. He’s doing well. If they cannot be considered they can be considered as assistant coaches because they have to start from somewhere and be groomed.” Says George Kwasi Afriyie.

The Sports Ministry and the GFA are yet to take a final decision on the Serbian tactician, Milovan Rajevac who led the Black Stars for humiliation in Cameroon.
